THE STORY BEHIND
A life of creation with what is around — out of necessity, curiosity, and passion. From leftover wall paint and fabric off-cuts to confiscated firearms and pulverised algae — materials and creations became messengers. So did the people met along the way. The human relationships and experiences — travelling, working, living across five continents — expanded inner and outer worlds. Creation became the constant — a rhythm always searching for the pulse of what it means to live, to make.
MOMAL is the unfolding of that life — a return to the intimate, the tactile, the true.
[ BETWEEN STILLNESS & MOTION ] Each work unfolds through rhythm — brushstroke and breath, pigment and pause, memory and motion. Within this meeting of stillness and movement, MOMAL explores the threshold between what has been, what is, and what is emerging.
[ STOCKHOLM & BARCELONA ] The practice lives between two studios — one poised above an old theatre in Stockholm, the other hidden in the narrow streets of Barcelona. In the north, light stretches long across wooden floors, carrying the clarity and restraint of Scandinavian spirit. In the south, colour and rhythm drift through open windows, steeped in Mediterranean warmth and motion. Between them, the practice finds its pulse — a dialogue between silence and sound, structure and surrender.
[ MATERIALS, PROCESS & PHILOSOPHY ] Every piece begins as an artefact of lived process. Acrylics and oil crayons form the base rhythm — intuitive, responsive. Wall paint, spackle, and the raw weave of canvas bring texture and truth, grounding the work in the physicality of time and place. Then come the quiet rituals: a brush dipped in coffee, a smudge of pigment from another day — reminders that art, like life, is never made from purity alone.
The materials are chosen not for effect, but for honesty — how they age, how they breathe, how they carry memory. Layers are added, erased, and rebuilt until the surface begins to resonate — between earth and air, control and release, memory and imagination.
In the end, the Atelier is both a space and a state of mind — where creation becomes conversation, where rhythm becomes form. It is here that MOMAL takes shape: grounded, evolving, alive.
